Education

Phillip Island Landcare supports school education and the opportunity to share their knowledge.  We are able to align discussion around both primary and secondary curricula.

Schools may visit the Rooks Little Farm (Instagram: @rookslittlefarm) at 457 Ventnor Rd, Ventnor for their discussion.  The 5 acre property follows permaculture principles. It's surrounded by farmland and provides opportunities for interactive learning experiences.

Furthermore, you may be interested in the Bass Coast Landcare Network’s Environmental Detective Program, which includes 10 curricula linked, to environmental education activities that can be tailored to all levels from pre-kinder, Kinder, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary students

Hayley Brewin, Woodleigh School "Thank you so much for your time, expertise, and insights into Permaculture and Land Management.

The group and I really enjoyed seeing your property and how you live sustainably. The discussions were very informative and insightful and aligned with our curriculum. We really appreciated the BBQ lunch – it was delicious and had that extra tastiness from the fire!"

Joanne Brauman, Drouin Secondary College "Thank you so much for taking the time to share with the students the work Landcare does and how the students can get involved.  The session was very informative, educating the students on the impacts they're having on the environment and how they can reverse some of those impacts."
